KUALA LUMPUR: Ta Win Holdings Bhd believes it can meet the evolving global healthcare needs through Royce Pharma Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.

The copper product manufacturer yesterday completed the acquisition of a 32.5 per cent stake in Royce Pharma for RM20.85 million through its whollyowned subsidiary Ta Win Copper Biohealth Sdn Bhd.

Group managing director Datuk Seri Ngu Tieng Ung said Ta Win would now leverage Royce Pharma’s expertise and strong track record in the pharmaceutical industry.

“With the completion of this corporate exercise and equipped with Royce Pharma’s robust pharmaceutical capabilities and experience, Ta Win aims to tap viable opportunities, including for the development of pharmaceutical products that meet evolving global healthcare needs, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

In addition, he said Ta Win would continue to look into downstream applications of the biochemistry and chemistry of copper and copper proteins, to further strengthen its prospects over the long-term.

Ta Win’s copper products, including rods and wires, are used in a wide range of industries.
